Naxos State Airport “Apollo” (abbreviations: IATA: JNX, ICAO: LGNX, CAA: KANX) is located 3 km from the capital of the island and 1 km from Agios Prokopios at the location “Alykes Naxos” (east side). The drive to the airport is about 10 minutes.

Naxos airport is named after Apollo, one of the 12 gods of Olympus.Apollo was particularly worshipped by the inhabitants of Naxos. In the village of ‘Apollo’ there is an inscription in the ancient quarry ‘Mount of the village of the holy Apollo’ with the kouros dedicated to him. Also in Delos there is a large statue of the god with the inscription “Naxos Apollonius”. In the next period, improvements to the airport are planned, such as the extension of the runway and the construction of new facilities to support the operation of the airport.The total cost of the project is estimated at EUR 5 million and the project is being implemented by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The airport of Naxos is a very small airport and currently does not have the capacity to serve many international flights. Most of the airport’s traffic comes from flights from Athens.

To get to Naxos Town via taxi, from Naxos Airport it takes about 15 min without traffic and will cost about 20 euro.
